On New Year's Eve, Sheezan's judicial custody was extended by the court for another two weeks until January 13. Sheezan is currently being held in custody. During the hearing, the prosecutor reportedly opposed Sheezan's bail request, claiming that Sheezan is not cooperating with the investigation and has changed his statement. It was also mentioned in court that Sheezan had deleted several of his WhatsApp chats, which were later recovered from the phone of his alleged secret girlfriend.
Sheezan, who is rumored to have been Tunisha's ex-boyfriend, has been accused of inciting Tunisha to commit suicide. Sheezan's lawyer has maintained his innocence, stating that "truth and justice will prevail" and that Sheezan and his family are being unfairly targeted due to police incompetence. Tunisha was found hanged on the set of her TV show "Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul" on December 24. Sheezan was taken into custody after Tunisha's mother accused him of abetting the suicide.
