At the age of 78, veteran Telugu actor Chalapathi Rao passed away this morning (December 25) from a heart attack at home.

According to news sources, Chalapathi had health issues for a considerable amount of time. His wife and two daughters remain as his only survivors.
According to reports, Chalapati's relatives stated, "Chalapati Rao's death rites will be performed after his daughter comes from America. Fans may pay their respects by visiting his remains at Ravi Babu's residence in Banjara Hills up until Sunday afternoon. He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, December 28, after 3 o'clock.
Chalapathi Rao, who was born in Andhra Pradesh in 1944, began his career in the film industry with the assistance of Sr. NTR. In 1966, he made his acting debut in the movie Goodachari 116. In movies starring NTR, Krishna, Shoban Babu, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, and Balakrishna, among others, he played a variety of comedic and villainous roles.
His passing has caused anguish to sweep through the entire business. Throughout his career, Chalapathi, affectionately known by his co-stars as "Babai," appeared in more over 600 movies.
The seasoned performer has played producer in a number of movies, including President Gari Alludu, Kadapa Reddamma, Jagannatakam, Pellante Noorella Panta, and Kaliyuga Krishnudu. In the 2021 movie Bangarraju, which came out, he was last seen on screen.
